COVID-19 Exposure Control, Mitigation, and Recovery Plan (ECMRP)

Overview

The Tranquil Path Healing LLC ECMRP is not required by the state of South Dakota to be available at all business locations for inspection by state and local authorities. However, we would like to have ours here for informational purposes. It lists requirements provided by the state, how we are responding to these requirements, and what is expected of our clients during the pandemic.

1. Safety Training for Clients

All clients are required to complete the online INFORMED CONSENT FOR IN-PERSON SERVICES DURING COVID-19 PUBLIC HEALTH CRISIS form sent to them the day before each appointment. If it is not completed and submitted before their appointment they are required to fill it out when they arrive for their appointment. This form explains the protective measures put in place at the office, what they need to do before their appointment, and what precautions they need to adhere to.

2. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

PPE such as gloves, goggles, masks, hair bands, and scrubs are provided as appropriate or required by the activities being performed and are changed or cleaned after every client as are linens. When not alone (with no chance of human interaction) or with those living in a shared space, face coverings will be worn by the therapist. It is up to the client as to if they wear one or not.

Clients are given the option for their therapist to wear gloves during treatment or not. To mitigate the spread of germs, disposable gloves or a hand towel can be used when touching shared common surfaces.

3. Social Distancing

Our space has been adjusted for social distancing where possible. We have lengthened the time between clients to ensure fewer interactions and time for cleaning.

4. Sanitation, Hygiene, and Cleanliness

  • Soap and running water will be abundantly provided for frequent hand washing.

  • Alcohol-based hand sanitizers with greater than 60% ethanol or 70% isopropanol can also be used, but are not a replacement for hand washing.

  • Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces such as workstations, keyboards, telephones, machines, shared tools, and doorknobs.

  • Disinfectants will be available to ensure regular cleaning practices.

  • Tools and other equipment must be sanitized before and after each use.

  • If someone reports feeling sick and goes home, the area where that person was should be immediately disinfected.

  • No touching the face with unwashed hands or with gloves.

  • Covering the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.

  • Trash cans and tissues are available for use.

5. Client and Therapist Health/Symptoms

Tranquil Path Healing LLC had created policies which encourage clients and therapist to stay home or leave if feeling sick or if they think they have been in close contact with a confirmed Covid-19 case. It is also suggested to those with preexisting conditions to refrain from getting massage unless otherwise stated by a medical professional. As part of the online INFORMED CONSENT FOR IN-PERSON SERVICES DURING COVID-19 PUBLIC HEALTH CRISIS form, clients and therapist are required to inform each other if they or a family member they are currently living with has Covid-19 and isolate/quarantine themselves in accordance with Washington State Department of Health until examined by a medical doctor and cleared.

Clients must also screen themselves for symptoms of Covid-19 including but not limited to, fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle aches, or new loss of taste or smell. Clients should take their temperature at home prior to arriving or make note of any feverish feelings. If recently returning from travel, clients should isolate/quarantine themselves for 14 days before the massage. Clients are also required to complete and submit the online HEALTH WARNING form before every appointment. This form lists out medical conditions that are possible contraindications to massage. An online MEDICAL INTAKE form is also required to be completed before the first session which takes the place of the HEALTH WARNING form for the first visit.

Should exposure to Covid-19 occur, Tranquil Path Healing will shut down the business and those possibly exposed will isolate/quarantine themselves in accordance with Washington State Department of Health until examined by a medical doctor and cleared. All those who may have come into contact during the specified time frame (including other businesses and clients) will be notified and encouraged to quarantine and get tested.

6. Location Visitors

Location visitors that are not clients, client guardians, service providers, delivery services, or office personnel are discouraged. Clients are encouraged to find child-minding services for their children instead of bringing them to their appointment.
